Jelly Babies
Jelly Babies
Taken during the performance at Washington Coliseum in Washington DC on 11th February 1964, during the Beatles’ first US tour. Around John’s feet are jelly beans. In an interview, George had said he liked jelly babies, so it wasn’t unusual for the sweets to rain down on the band in the UK. In the US however, soft jelly babies were replaced by American jelly beans, with their hard sugar coating.
